HISTORY
"The Lombard Lilac League was
organized in April, 1929. Its two-fold purpose is to encourage the
planting and culture of lilacs in the
village of Lombard and to organize a
traditional May Festival as an annual
ceremony of joyful appreciation, good
will and neighborliness in celebration of
Colonel Plum's great gift of "Lilacia" to
the village of Lombard."
